Tax Reclaim Refunds Over $400,000

A very large U.S. based casualty and life insurance company set up meetings for staff in a European country. Several thousand staff were involved over a two year period. A current member of the Lincoln Expense Solutions team reviewed the program with the insurance company to see what tax monies were recoverable.

Under a little known provision of that host country's tax law, the member found a solution that permitted the company to reclaim much of the VAT (Value Added Tax) it spent on its visit. In total, the client saved in excess of $400,000, which it used to host further meetings in the USA.
